Community Health Charities of Texas accounts for its funds on an accrual basis in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and is audited annually by an independent certified public accountant in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS).
Health charities voluntarily choose to become members of and pay for services rendered by Community Health Charities of Texas. Federation expenses and resultant charges to member charities are determined each year through a budget process administered and approved by the Board of Directors in an open meeting. Member charities are assessed a share of the federation’s budgeted expenses based on each member charity’s share of pledged designations. Checks are written to member charities on a quarterly basis. Community Health Charities of Texas does not retain any donations beyond those approved by the Board of Directors to pay approved expenses.
